Ophiothrix and kin: Blunt spined brittle starfish: the entire Ophiuroid family of serpent and brittle starfishes, with rare exceptions, are very long lived, unassuming and well suited for captivity.
They have amazingly adaptable natures to substrates, systems, and foods. As an opportunistic omnivore, they are fascinating, beautiful and useful scavengers. In smaller aquaria, they easily can serve as a featured animal in their own right!
